Cannibal's Den

Cannibal's Den

Introduction:

The world is still fuzzy. The dark room you open your eyes into is unfamiliar and uninviting. You thought you were going to a concert. The man driving you and your friends to the nearby town seemed so nice, but the smile he flashed as you drifted off will haunt you forever, even if you manage to make it out of here. As panic sets in, you realize you have two choices: stay here and resign yourself to being this man’s next meal, or do everything you can to escape THE CANNIBAL’S DEN!

Summary

  • Recommend 4-6 escape artists
  • Practical puzzles
  • YOU CAN CLIMB! :D
  • Not a typical escape room experience
  • Great GM
  • Challenging for beginners and experienced escape artists

Our GM, Daniel, was the same GM from our other Quest Room experiences. He was personable, humorous and succeeded in hyping up the escape room before it began.

There was a mixed review within my group and I will attempt to explain both sides.

First the negatives: 1) Ending was anti-climatic; 2) Puzzles seemed too easy for experienced escape artists; and 3) Lack of puzzles had members feel not involved with the escape.

The positives: 1) You can climb!; 2) Puzzles were practical rather then cracking a code or solving a riddle; 3) Very immersive; and 4) Not a traditional escape room.

In the beginning of the escape room, certain people in your group will have critical roles to progress through the experience while others will have smaller roles. During this experience, our two newbies had major roles and they did very well with some guidance. There are things in this escape room you normally wouldn't do (you'll see what i mean), but I believe that's the beauty of this escape room. For experienced escape artists, I can imagine that they have a certain expectation of what a traditional escape room would be like. This room breaks the mold and can possibly force seasoned escape artists to think differently and get out of their comfort zone. I think that is brilliant! I CANNOT wait for Red Giant and the next Quest Rooms.
